Major French automotive press coverage of the Citroën DS3 Café Racer limited edition — visual identity by BMD Design, 2018.
Major brand collaborations where Bruno Michaud (BMD Design) created logos, apparel graphics and visual identities for internationally recognized brands.
Since 2001, Bruno Michaud has built BMD Design into one of France's most internationally recognized artisanal branding studios — not through advertising, but through the quality of work that speaks for itself. The collaborations listed here span luxury footwear, American fashion, automotive design, craft brewing, and independent apparel: each one initiated because a brand recognized in Bruno Michaud's hand-drawn style something that no digital tool could replicate. From the Birkenstock 1774 logotype worn on shoes sold in the world's finest boutiques, to the DS3 Café Racer featured in automotive press across 15 countries, each collaboration is a testament to the global reach of truly artisanal graphic design.
The Hook & Irons collaboration illustrates perfectly the BMD Design approach: nine distinct graphic tees, each a fully realized illustration — not a template variation, but a unique hand-drawn composition built around a concept. Veni Vidi Vici, Guardian Angel, War That Never Ends — each title is a world in itself, rendered in Bruno Michaud's unmistakable style: raw, precise, and deeply rooted in a visual culture that bridges old-school tattooing, vintage Americana, and European graphic craftsmanship. This is the kind of work that brands commission when they want something that cannot be generated — only drawn.
Beyond major brand partnerships, BMD Design has maintained a continuous presence on international creative platforms — from Rhinoshield (exclusive phone case collections) to Artmajeur (original artworks available internationally) and Age of Glory (Bordeaux-based moto apparel brand). These collaborations reflect the breadth of Bruno Michaud's creative output: a studio that works equally at home producing a luxury logotype for a global footwear brand and a hand-painted helmet for a passionate collector. It is this range — combined with 24 years of uninterrupted practice — that defines the singular position of BMD Design in the world of artisanal graphic design.
